Started the search for white-wingers at North Walney scoping the scars on the incoming tide, plenty of Herring gulls and 6 G.B.B.Gulls but no white wingers.
12 Grey plover
40 Dunlin
20 Sanderling
17 Ringed plover
Curlew, Redshank and Turnstone in good numbers
37 Eiders
6 R.B.Merganser
4 R.T.Diver
30 C.Scoter offshore
1 Peregrine male.
Next a drive to Ormsgill res checking the rooftops on the way. Bradys warehouse had plenty of gulls but no w/w but did have 3 L.B.B.Gulls.
Ormsgill Resr Coots, Tufted Duck, Canada Geese were the bulk of the waterfowl 16 Goldeneye were the best of the rest. Herring, Black Headed and Common Gulls were the only gulls.
Standing Tarn, Mere Tarn and Urswick Tarn were underwhelming to say the least it was'nt until I got to Rampside that I got any reward for my efforts but they weren't white wingers 2 2nd winter Med Gulls among the Herring, Common and B.H.Gulls.
