Iceland the final day.

It was never going to be a birding trip but I had hoped to get a little bit of time to do a bit of birding and an opportunity arose on the final day.
An organised trip seeing the sights of Reykjavik (smokey bay) provided a few chances to have a scan about. While the group were looking at the Presidents House I was checking the wildfowl in a nearby bay, Scaup long-tailed duck, Whooper swan, Greylag Goose, Tufted Duck and lots of Eider.  By the Viking Hall Glaucous, Iceland, Great Black Backed and Herring Gull. Reyjavik Bay where Reagan and Gorbachev began the end of the Cold War I saw Red Breasted Merganser, Fulmar, Common Gull and Cormorant.  Behind the magnificent glass Harpa Concert Hall Black Guillemot, Iceland gull,  Eider, Dunlin, Turnstone, Oystercatcher and Blackbird were all seen. The last new bird was found by the hotdog stall where President Clinton ate a hotdog on a visit to Iceland,  Redwing were scrounging for scraps around the tables.

Did not realise you were so interested in politics. The Gyr Falcon makes me sick. Ken
