Israel May 9th and 10th

No sign of the Caspian Plovers at Yotvata again and just the usual suspects in the fields and the sewage ponds. Birds still moving through, small numbers of Swallows, Sand Martins all day and Wagtail numbers seemed to have declined. A stonking male Whinchat was a nice find at the sewage pond.
The evening of the 9th Km76 was good with 1 Upchers Warbler and 2 Olive Tree Warblers being the highlights.
The 10th was much the same, highlights being a visit to the salt pans with a cracking Little Bittern and a summer plumaged Curlew Sandpiper. Spent the last couple of hours of the day at North Beach with:
70 Common Tern
12 White-eyed Gull
1 Baltic Gull
2 Arctic Skua
42 Pallid Swift being the highlights.
