The Early Bird

                                                Sunrise over Foulney.
An early start at Newby Bridge and it was the usual woodland species
 Blackbird,Song and Mistle Thrush, Robin, Blue,Great and Coal Tits,Chaffinch,Goldfinch,Greenfinch and Nuthatch being the most vocal.Chiffchaffs were everywhere and Willow Warblers are well and truly in.
 3 Great Spotted Woodpecker (in one tree) with another 2 drumming in the distance
 4 Jay
 2 Bullfinch
 2 Treecreeper
 6  Pied wagtail
 2 Goosander on the river.
 A drive towards Rusland got me

 Backbarrow/River Leven
 6 Goosander
 2 Dipper
 1 Common Sandpiper

 1 Sparrowhawk
 2 Great Spots
 Swallows were moving through early in the day with at least 20 birds moving north through Rusland valley
