A tour along the coast road today was the first time out birding for a few weeks.
Highlights at Bardsea were 3 Peregrines hunting over the mudflats an adult and 2 juvs were harassing the wader flocks trying to sit out the high tide. They didn't have any luck and drifted off to the north.
3 Little Egret
80 Curlew
2 Black Tailed Godwit
30 Ringed Plover
20 Dunlin
110 Black Headed Gull
300 Common Gull
7 Mute Swan were the pick of the birds on the beach
6 Long Tailed Tit and 2 Chiff Chaff were the only passerines of note
The high tide gull roost at Rampside held a single ad Med Gull amongst the hoards of larger Gulls.
Single Buzzard and Sparrowhawk were hunting in the fields alongside the road to Barrow.
456 Cormorants and 1 Mute Swan on Cavendish dock this evening
